marHaba: Practice Workbooks (Volumes 1 - 10)

The Practice Workbooks are intended for beginning non-native speakers of Lebanese Arabic Dialect. They are also useful for heritage students who can speak Arabic (Levantine dialect) but are not necessarily able to read it or write it. They are best used in conjunction with the textbook: marHaba (A Course in Levantine Arabic Lebanese Dialect – ISBN 9781508595311), but they can also be used alone. The practice workbooks are meant to build conversational fluency through TRANSLITERATION.
There are TEN WORKBOOKS in this series. Each workbook contains fifteen passages in transliteration. Free downloadable recordings of the passages by the author are available below. For the self-directed learner, the passages have also been translated into English as a reference and are included in the Answer Key in the back of each workbook. Translations are mostly literal to make it easier for the student to follow the original transliterated passage.
